The Falcon Players are ready to take to the Stanford Hall stage from Wednesday 5th to Saturday 8th February 2003 with the comedy ‘Laying The Ghost’, their 125th production since the curtain rose on the groups first show in 1957.

‘Laying The Ghost’ sees Margot Buchanan (Yvonne Marshall) trying to forget her seventieth birthday. But all around are intent on celebrating it, even Freda (Janet Holmes), her psychic friend who talks to ghosts and is deep in her Full Monty jigsaw puzzle.

Margot and her ex-husband Sir Leo Buchanan (Stuart Bailey), were famous in the fifties for their portrayal of Romeo and Juliet and for this reason Margo is visited by Sadie Croft (Sylvia Fall) who is also to play Juliet. Sadie is currently having an affair with Leo, but the timely arrival of Lady Judy Buchanan (Liz Cox), Leo's current wife adds a little more tension to the situation !

Sir Leo arrives, in hiding from the tabloid press but unfortunately suffers a fatal heart attack as the curtain falls on Act I. Thus, Act II is set for scenes of chaos and hilarity as Leo's ghost appears, anxious to sort out matters between his three women whilst only visible only to Freda !

Eventually everything sorts itself out but not before a visit from Superman (Bill Pritchard) and a helping hand from Mrs Kidd (Patricia Quilter) in this spooky comedy written by Simon Williams.

This show marks the 125th production by the popular Falcon Players who have built a reputation for producing high quality comedy and farce at the magnificent Stanford Hall Theatre near Loughborough. Janet Holmes and Bill Pritchard appeared together in the groups 25th show ‘My Giddy Aunt’ in 1969 and will again be together on the stage in this, the 125th production by the Loughborough based group.
