The May 2009 production A Bolt From The Blue is set to be the last production from the Falcon Players for a little while.

Chairman of the Falcon Players Andy Holt explained; "We've decided to take a temporary break after our May play, which will mean that there will be no October show this year. We do intend to be back in 2010 though and we will be using the time off to good advantage.

Firstly we will be appealing for new members, particularly those who might like to play an active part in the running of, production of or participation in amateur theatre. The current 3 shows a year puts large demands on our existing numbers, some of whom have been with us for many years! We will also be deciding on how the future of the Falcons may look - whether we continue to do do 3 shows a year, whether we repeat old favourites or deviate slightly away from comedy and farce.

Ideally we'd like to continue as we are but that all depends on whether we can attract the new members needed to enable that to happen. Whatever we do decide to do, we'll keep our audiences up-to-date, either through the post or on our website."

If you are someone who only occasionally comes to see our shows, we'd urge you to come and see A Bolt From the Blue as this will be your last chance to see the Falcon Players for a while.

As Andy commented "It would be superb to see the theatre full on each of the performance nights of this particulary funny play so that we can give our audiences a lasting treat until we return at a point sometime in the future."
